Have you guys been checking out the Home Dec LOVE Blog Tour from Riley Blake Designs? I have been loving all the projects everyone is doing with their home dec fabrics. Next up is this absolute gorgeous Lobster Navy Home Dec! A few weeks ago, I shared a duffle bag pattern with you guys. It’s the perfect bag for an overnight trip or even a gym bag. The pattern is free to download and can be scaled up or down based on preference. Here it is showcased with RBD’s Lobster Navy.
That’s my little girl in the picture. She refused to move for this picture. I usually give away most of my projects but this one is a keeper! I am definitely using this for my overnight trips or as a carryon for my airplane travels. It comes with side pockets to hold all your essentials.
I used heavy duty zippers for this bag because its just easier to open and close with home dec fabric. I also used the same fabric for my lining. Again, if you follow the tutorial on how to make this this bag, you will find a simple way to get a lining without having to use binding or sew a separate piece.
The bottom is flat which gives the bag a bit more structure than the typical round duffle bags.
I am going to get some more yardage of this color and maybe the red for another upcoming project I plan on sharing with you.
