    Easy Christmas Gifts to Sew

    Free Pattern· Roundup

    25 Nov

I don’t know about you but Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I love doing handmade gifts for my family and friends. The one issue with that is the lack of time. Having a full time job, being a single mom and juggling life tends to require most of my time. I try to sneak in a few sewing projects during my daughter’s nap time on the weekends or on nights when I just can’t sleep. Sometimes, I bring my sewing machine into the living room and sew while my daughter watches a movie. So, due to my busy schedule, I tend to lean towards easy sewing projects during the holidays. Here are my favorite 20 Easy Christmas Gifts to Sew that I plan on whipping up this season. I am going to try and blog about some of these as I make them, so stay tuned!  I hope the list helps you as you create gifts this season.

Hey! I just wanted to tell you that I love your blog! I have recently gotten a sewing machine. I was searching online for an easy duffle bag pattern. I found the noodle head duffle bag and thought it would be a good first project to start out with. Before I started I decided to practice on some scraps. I don't if it is just my sewing machine or if I am on some wrong setting, but every time I try to do the top stitch down the fabric it makes the stitches really tight so tight in fact that I can't the different stitches. I have tried every setting on my sewing machine but the only way that I can get a good even top stitch look is if I move the fabric my self really fast. Do you know what I am doing wrong?

Can you increase the stitch length and/or decrease the pressure of your pressure foot. You will have to go into your machine’s manual to find out how to do do either of those things. If those don’t work or you can’t figure out how to do that, contact either where you got the machine or the help desk of the machine company. Good luck
